Hamilton is a sui generis city, called the Hammer by locals and Steel Town by outsiders. Hamilton is the waterfall capital of the world with more than 100 waterfalls. Hamilton has a rich past, vibrant culture, and nature surrounding it. The urban feel is unique, the arts scene is pulsating and authentic with a vibrant downtown.

The City that gave us Tim Horton’s has a bustling food scene with incredible restaurants.

The founders of The Burnt Tongue wanted to create a chain of restaurants in Hamilton known for delicious soups and burgers. Everything about the restaurant is to create a casual and comfortable environment. The focus is on bringing food and hospitality together by providing healthy and delicious food.

The Burnt Tongue that we visited is located at 10 Cannon Street East.

We order at the counter. A single classic burger, a single deluxe burger, fries, and a Coke. The service is friendly and they bring the food to your table. I do sense an extra serving of warmth that is ingrained in the culture.

The burgers are delicious and outstanding. This is comfort food at its best. The ingredients are fresh and all the ingredients are locally sourced.

Mountain Burger, Hamilton is a family-owned and operated restaurant famous for handmade delicious gourmet burgers, French fries, and milkshakes. Mountain Burger uses a special blend of fresh never frozen gluten-free meat and grinds it in-store every day to meet the perfection level.

Dawood Al-Shaikhli, Abdulah Almesri, and Mohmedsalh Almesri are passionate about food and it shows in their offerings at Mountain Burger. The focus is on serving handmade delicious gourmet burgers with a combination of Canadian AAA beef with buns baked fresh daily. The goal is to make the best burger in Hamilton with amazing taste and quality.

Hamilton Burger is located in Upper Ottawa and has a simple menu consisting of burgers, chicken sandwiches, wings, hot dogs, Philly steak sandwiches, salads, plant-based burgers, drinks, milkshakes, homemade cakes, and sides.

I have been to Mountain Burgers three times. The first time I sat down and tried their burgers, the second time was for take out for wings and the third was also take out for the Grey Cup for wings.

The inside is nice and comfortable.

You order at the counter and they bring the food to you.

The first time I had the Mountain Classic Burger combo and Debbie had the Hawaiian Burger.  The classic consists of a 6oz AAA patty, Cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickle and their delicious mountain sauce. It is a huge burger and just melts in your mouth. The fries are generous and delicious.

The Hawaiian consists of a 6oz AAA patty, pineapple, beef bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mountain sauce.  This is a fruity sweet burger with savory toppings and fresh pineapple.

Both burgers are huge and delicious.

The second time we tried the Buffalo and the BBQ wings.

There is a delicious smokiness to the wings, which are tender and out of this world.

Mountain Burger also offers a vegan option, a keto burger option, and a gluten-free burger.

Mountain Burger is always busy and that tells you that they have a following in Hamilton. It is a family-owned restaurant, that offers great food, great service with a smile, and generous portions.

If you are in the mountain and feel like a burger or a takeout, check them out. You will not be disappointed.

Hambrgr is the dashing restaurant in Hamilton that is making a name for itself. Forbes, The Globe and Mail, Canadian Restaurant News, The Culture Trip, blogTO, Narcity, The Hamilton Spectator, WestJet Magazine, VIA The Blog, and a whole bunch of bloggers have covered the restaurant recently.

Hambrgr is a down-to-earth place in Hamilton that offers sybaritic experiences. Hamilton is attracting brash, hip chefs and restaurateurs who are doing things outside the box.

Hambrgr has a simple philosophy. Use locally sourced ingredients, fresh beef, and produce that are delivered daily.

Hambrgr has a trendy location on King William Street near James in downtown Hamilton.

One of my closest friends is visiting Hamilton along with his two kids and after the tour of Pier 8, The Farmers Market, it is time to eat some Hamburgers.

The inside of the restaurant is cool and the patio is an amazing place to relax, enjoy the summer, and have a great conversation.

Andrew our waiter/bartender is cool and hipster.  He brings us the menu and gives us time to go over it.

The kids order milkshakes and the adults order the Ice-T Mule, Root Beer Mule, and Would You Ever cocktails. We order a B’Mac Nachos as a starter.

The drinks are on point and the nachos are different. It is made from thin potato chips and it is delicious.

It is time to order Hamburgers. We order the Fake Shack Caesar, Hawaiian Punch, Original, 514, and The Goodfellas.

The buns are toasted well. The meat is hot, tender, and juicy. All the ingredients work together.

Great patio, great drinks, great service, great fresh ingredients, and great company, make Hambrgr a great place to visit. Visit the Hammer and have a Hambrgr.

The Acoustic Grill is a cozy, rustic-looking tavern offering a pub-grub menu and live acoustic music. The ‘music is acoustic and the burgers rock’ is their motto. The Acoustic Grill is located on a quaint street at 172 Picton Main St in Downtown Picton behind the historic Master Feeds Building.

Steve Purtelle and Jenny Leigh have been serving the best burger in Canada since 2006. The small stage in the restaurant showcases talented local and traveling musicians.

Steve always wanted to open a restaurant and talked a lot about it. He loves food, beer, and serving people. He finally opened The Acoustic Grill. The aim of the restaurant is to provide simple-great food, prepared fresh with a beer, or a glass of wine and served with a smile.

We decide to eat inside the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant showcases the illustrious past of the old feed mill.

We sit at the bar and are greeted by the friendly bartender. I have a glass of Rosehall Run, Chardonnay, and Debbie the house special cocktail.

The Acoustic Jam Burger is the house specialty. The Burger is made in-house and consists of 7 oz. hand-pressed Angus beef patty on a pastry house bun. The garnishes are fresh tomato, green onions, horseradish mayo, roasted corn salsa, and caramelized onions on a grilled bakery bun. It comes with a huge portion of fries.

A burger needs to be celebrated if it remains simple, well made and with the right amount of ingredients. The Acoustic Jam Burger fuses texture and taste and throws this salty, sour, and sweet with the right amount of crunch at you. The meat melts in your mouth and every ingredient is in the right amount. The burger is stable and matches the bun in size and nothing is pushed out to the end. Coke is the perfect drink with the burger.

The burger at Acoustic Grill is the best in Canada. The service and the atmosphere are great and I highly recommend this place when you visit Prince Edward County.
