Soula’s Greek: Lets Meat at Danforth
Soula’s serves authentic Greek food, set in a contemporary ambiance with a modern twist on family recipes.
Soula’s cooking style is based on the Mediterranean diet, which is light, focusing on seafood and vegetables. The dishes have a modern interpretation catered towards today’s palette.
The ambiance is nestled in the traditional decor of wrought iron chandeliers and illustration of Mediterranean scenes. There is an upper loft for an intimate dining experience overlooking the main room.
We are heading downtown for Christmas shopping and the wife and daughter are in a mood for grilled meat. My daughter wants to try Greek food. We agree to try Soula’s Modern Greek Cuisine.
We get there at noon and are greeted by Maria who is friendly and knowledgeable. We are seated and given an extensive menu.
Jean orders a Shirley Temple and Debbie order a Mykonos Mule.
Maria brings a grilled pita sprinkled with olive oil and garlic. It is accompanied by goat cheese and hommus. The grilled pita is just delicious. The accompaniments go great with the pita.
We decide to order the Mixed Grill Platter.
The platter includes two Ontario pork chops, two lemon roasted chicken breast, two Greek sausages, two Ontario lamb chops, and grilled Biftekia all served with basmati rice, lemon roasted potatoes, and seasonal pan served vegetables.
All the meat is delicious and juicy along with the rice and vegetables. The portions are huge it takes us two days to finish everything.
Maria is attentive and continues to bring us plates, fills our glasses with water and service is outstanding.
The menu is extensive and divided into lunch, dinner, drinks, dessert, catering, and take-out.
This Estiatorio is located at 500 A Danforth Avenue, Toronto, and is open seven days a week from Noon till 10 pm. I am glad we decided to eat here as I have no complaints.
